On Golden Pond
By Ernest Thompson

On Golden Pond is the poignant tale of one family's summer. Ethel and Norman, a bickering but loving elderly couple are spending their 48th year at their summer home on Golden Pond. When their estranged daughter, Chelsea, and her new boyfriend show up for Norman's birthday, they ask the couple to look after their teenage son while they vacation in Europe. Curmudgeonly Norman unexpectedly grows closer to the young boy than he ever was to his daughter, sparking her long-repressed resentment when she returns. In this beautifully told story there are many things going on below the surface of Golden Pond, but it is ultimately a story of love, family, and forgiveness.
