It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play
By Joe Landry, based on the Frank Capra film

The story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers ending his life one fateful Christmas Eve in this clever new adaptation of Frank Capra’s unforgettable film, written by Joe Landry. This beloved American holiday classic comes to captivating life as a live 1940s radio broadcast. With the help of the radio announcer, musicians, and sound effects man, the acting company brings these memorable and well-loved characters to the stage and the airwaves in a production that is sure to become a cherished family memory.

This is an exciting adaptation the classic Frank Capra film It's a Wonderful Life performed in the style of a 1940's radio broadcast, including live music, sound effects, and actors playing multiple roles.

There are roles available for 10-15 actors of all ages 8 and up to play over 50 characters! Roles include George and Mary Bailey, Old Man Potter, Clarence the Angel, a radio announcer, sound effects people, live musicians, and many more!

Auditions are November 1 & 2 at La Crosse Community Theatre. You do not need to prepare anything as readings will be provided at the audition. However, if you play a musical instrument and are interested in playing it for the show, please bring it with you to the audition if possible. There will be a piano provided.

The show runs December 10-19, 2010. Rehearsals will begin on Monday, November 8 and run from 6:30-9:30 pm, Mondays through Thursdays.

Please contact the box office at 784-9292 for any questions or to sign up for a time. Perusal scripts are available in the box office. They may be checked out for one week with a $10 refundable deposit.
