West Side Story
By Arthur Laurents, Leonard Bernstein, and Stephen Sondheim, based on William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet

The world’s greatest love story takes to the streets in this youthful, urgent, and timeless piece that has become one of musical theatre’s finest accomplishments. Inspired by Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, West Side Story tells the story of Tony and Maria, idealistic young lovers who find themselves caught between two warring street gangs. Their struggle to survive in Hell’s Kitchen, a concrete jungle full of hate, violence, and prejudice, is one of the most innovative, heart-wrenching, and relevant musical dramas of all time.
