Arsenic and Old Lace Audition Information

After selecting a time, you will be automatically directed to fill out an audition form. Please do not skip this step.
Put all conflicts on the audition form that would occur during the following times:
- Rehearsals: August 3- September 10, 2026 (6pm-9:00pm) Monday-Friday
- Performances September 11-20, 2026
- This includes—recurring conflicts such as classes and lessons, other rehearsals, and appointments
- Please also list all single conflict dates such as, special events, school concerts, weddings, appointments, and celebrations.
Auditions will consist of reading monologues selections are available below to view. Instructions for reading for each character are included in the documents.
Audition Sides
Please note- The play will include light stage combat for all (very physical play, lots of action, lots of non-dance choreography). Please be prepared to move.
Teddy needs a dialect. Actors should be prepared to have a "voice" for the part.
Some recommendations from the Director:
1 - Use the character description to inform your read.
2 - Only choose 1 (one) set of monologs to read, but be prepared to read all of the monologs provided in that set.
3 - If you are unsure what part to audition for, take any set and read it.
4 - Most importantly, have fun!

ABBY BREWSTER – Her elderly sister
TEDDY BREWSTER – Their brother, who thinks he is Teddy Roosevelt
MORTIMER BREWSTER – Their nephew
ELAINE HARPER – His fiancée
REV. DR. HARPER – Her father
OFFICER KLEIN
OFFICER O’HARA – A raconteur
OFFICER BROPHY
LIEUTENANT ROONEY
JONATHAN BREWSTER – Mortimer’s murderous brother
DR. EINSTEIN – His accomplice

Please note that all roles have the potential to be cast non-traditionally (i.e. differing from the gender or age listed) There is potential for an actor to be cast in multiple roles.

Unable to Attend in Person?
If you are unable to attend auditions in person, you will need to film yourself reading one of the provided sides on camera and have another person read the scene on or off camera with you. You do not be memorized
