LCT Announces Family Musical, The Music Man

La Crosse, WI, 08/16/2017 – La Crosse Community Theatre announces that tickets go on sale Monday, August 21, 2017 for The Music Man. Performances begin September 8, 2017, and continue through Sunday, September 24, 2017. Shows are Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. in the Lyche Theatre at the Weber Center for the Performing Arts.

The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band that he vows to organize. There’s just one problem–he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef! His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, the librarian. Will she be able to change his tune by curtain’s fall?

“As in society today, nothing is ever exactly what you think it to be. The Music Man is just that. Do you rally behind Harold or hope that he gets his in the end? This musical is filled with the give and take of society. We can all relate to having to make choices that may affect our lives in the future. Enjoy the fun and music as if you too were in 1912,” said LCT Interim Executive Director, Tom Desjarlais.

The Music Man is co-directed and choreographed by Matthew Scott Campbell and Stephanie Harter. This production also features musical direction by Karl Greenfield, conducting by Kristin Freedlund, set design by Dillon McArdle, costume design by Theresa Smerud, lighting design by Dillon McArdle, prop design by Sara L. Adams, sound design by Douglas P. Wilken, accompaniment by Vicki Riness, stage management by Dawn Havican, and assistant stage management by Alex Yeiter.
