LCT Announces Theatre for Youth Production ‘Ramona Quimby’

La Crosse, WI – 05/16/18 – La Crosse Community Theatre announces that tickets go on sale Monday, May 21, 2018 for Ramona Quimby. Performances begin June 8, 2018, and continue through Sunday, June 17, 2018. Shows are Fridays at 7:00 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. in the Lyche Theatre at the Weber Center for the Performing Arts.

Beezus, our narrator, introduces us to the Quimby family and friends in this collection of vignettes that trace her little sister Ramona’s tumultuous passage through third grade. Ramona is usually either aggravating her older sister, getting into trouble or “making a big, noisy, fuss” when things don’t go her way. Although Ramona and Beezus don’t always get along, they come to realize that amazing things can happen when families stick together.

Ramona Quimby was a staple of my childhood books. I just seemed to understand Ramona and her rambunctious and imaginative personality. She taught me that anything is possible and that although family is not always easy, if you stick together, there is nothing you can’t do. I encourage you to come out and experience the magic of theatre through Ramona’s eyes,” said LCT Producing Artistic Director, Grant Golson.

Ramona Quimby is directed by Grace V. Riness. This production also features set design by Josh Wolcott, costume design by Tatyana Arndt, lighting design by Erek Weis, props design by Katie Kaiser, sound design by Brodyn Byington, technical direction by Erek Weis, stage management by Dawn Havican, and assistant direction by Jake Kaiser.

The performers are Georgia Galvan as Ramona, Anya Westrich as Beezus, AJ Kies as Mrs. Quimby, Carter Mandel as Mr. Quimby, Julianna Bruemmer as Aunt Bea, Soren Miner as Howie, Grace Kearney as Mrs. Kemp, Joshua Kaiser as Hobart, Annabelle Yusten as Mrs. Griggs, Naikya Chandana as Tammy/Brownie Leader, Franchesica Berry as Selma/Ensemble, Bella Bolduan as Susan/Ensemble, and Owen Scott as Boy Scout Leader/Ensemble.
