LCT Announces Theatre for Young Audiences Show, ‘Miss Electricity’
La Crosse, WI – 10/09/17 – La Crosse Community Theatre announces that tickets go on sale Monday, October 16, 2017 for Miss Electricity. Performances begin November 4, 2017, and continue through November 18, 2017. Shows are Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. in the Veterans Studio Theatre at the Weber Center for the Performing Arts.
Ten-year-old Violet is determined to show the world, not to mention the cool kids at school, just how special she is. With the help of her assistant Freddy, she sets out to break a world record, but becomes accidentally extraordinary when she’s struck by lightning — twice — and gains control over all things electric. Under the name Miss Electricity, Violet zaps her way through circuits, bullies, and tests, but could lose everything when the power goes to her head.
“Children and adults alike will love this tale of a rambunctious ten-year-old who learns that she doesn’t need super powers to be special. Hilarious and heartwarming, don’t miss this beautiful show all about being yourself,” said LCT Executive Director, Grant Golson.
Miss Electricity is directed by Stacy Bruemmer. This production also features set design by Kelsey Taunt, costume design by Krissa Valentine-Harnish, props design by Sara L. Adams, and stage management by Dawn Havican.
The performers are Mary Cate Cichock as Violet, Matthew Springer as Freddie/Owl, Ken E. Brown as Narrator/Billy the Bully/Zeus, and Amy McKnight as Mom/Connie-Can’t-Do/Mrs. Waldo/Athena.
