La Crosse, WI – 10/09/19 – La Crosse Community Theatre announces that tickets go on sale Monday, October 14, 2019 for the Theatre for Young Audiences production, Fantastic Folklore by the Great Brothers Grimm. Performances begin November 9, 2019 and continue through Sunday, November 17, 2019. Shows are Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. in the Veterans Studio Theatre at Weber Center for the Performing Arts.

Two elves take us on a journey back in time where magic and myth meet. The Fisherman and His Wife tells the story of a fisherman who catches a magical fish who grants his wife’s wildest dreams. In The Elves and the Shoemaker, the elves take pity on a poor shoemaker and each night help him do the work of ten men. And in The Golden Goose, a young peasant wins the heart of a joyless princess when his golden goose causes her to laugh for the first time ever.

“LCT is proud to present this fun and original piece, chock-full of fairytales from childhood. Fantastic Folklore by the Great Brothers Grimm will be familiar to many children, and is a great way to expose those who are not familiar to classical literature. Make no mistake, however, this piece is fun, lighthearted, and a great way to share the excitement of live theatre with adults and children alike,” said LCT Producing Artistic Director, Grant Golson.

Fantastic Folklore by the Great Brothers Grimm is directed by Stacy Bruemmer. This production also features set design by Kelsey Taunt and costume design by Irina Christel.

The ensemble cast members are Stacy Bruemmer, Dustin Luecke, Grace Riness, and Colin Thelen.

“The Brothers Grimm are responsible for some of everyone’s favorite fairytales! CinderellaSleeping Beauty, and Beauty and the Beast are just a few. The Grimm’s also wrote many short stories with an underlying lesson. Gratefulness, kindness, and staying true to yourself are three messages from Fantastic Folklore by the Great Brothers Grimm,” said Director, Stacy Bruemmer.
