La Crosse Community Theatre will hold open auditions for its debut production next season, Mary Poppins, Monday through Wednesday, June 16 to 18, at 7 p.m. Monday is for actors ages 8 to 15. Tuesday and Wednesday are for actors ages 16 and up.
All actors are welcome regardless of experience, but audition slots are limited. Auditions will be held at the Weber Center for the Performing Arts, 428 Front Street South, La Crosse. Callbacks will be on Thursday, June 19. Please prepare thirty seconds of a song from a Broadway musical (see guidelines for details). An accompanist will be provided; please bring sheet music. Dress appropriately for a dance audition as well.
The cast list will be announced at noon on Friday, June 20. Rehearsals will begin Monday, July 21. The exact rehearsal schedule to be determined upon casting. Anyone not cast (or who is otherwise interested) is invited to help in some other way. Performances will be September 5-21, 2014, in the Weber Center’s Lyche Theatre.

Mary Poppins will be directed by Greg Parmeter. Original music and lyrics are by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman; the book is by Julian Fellowes; new songs and additional music and lyrics are by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe; and the show was co-created by Cameron Mackintosh.
