La Crosse, WI – 07/11/17 – La Crosse Community Theatre will hold auditions for And Then They Came for Me: Remembering the World of Anne Frank on Monday, July 24, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. at Weber Center for the Performing Arts, 428 Front Street South, La Crosse, WI.
Witness the stories of Holocaust survivors, Eva Schloss and Ed Silverberg, who crossed paths with Anne Frank and faced the same heartbreaking discrimination and brutality of Nazi Germany. Eva and Ed’s chilling stories unfold through unique multi-media staging that connects their tales with visual artifacts of their past reality. This deeply impactful and immersive production raises questions and provides striking insight into a horrible time in our history.
And Then They Came for Me will be directed by guest artist Sara L. Adams. Auditions are open for ages 13 and up. There are roles available for men, women, and children. First-time auditionees are welcome—no experience necessary.
Performances are September 17, 19-20, 2017. The cast list will be announced during News 19 Daybreak on Friday, July 28, 2017, as well as online and on the stage door. Rehearsals are tentatively scheduled for Mondays through Fridays, beginning July 31, 2017, at Weber Center for the Performing Arts. La Crosse, WI- 05/22/17- La Crosse Community Theatre will hold auditions for the fall musical, TheMusic Man, on June 12 and 13, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. at Weber Center for the Performing Arts, 428 Front Street South, La Crosse, WI.
TheMusic Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band that he vows to organize. There’s just one problem—he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef! His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, the librarian. Will she be able to change his tune by curtain’s fall?
The Music Man will be directed by guest artist Matthew Scott Campbell, an assistant professor of theatre and music theatre at Viterbo University who also works freelance as a director, AEA actor, and fight director. His body of work as a director includes: Avenue Q,Romeo and Juliet, Oklahoma!, West Side Story, Altar Boyz, and Pippin at Viterbo, Twelfth Night and Macbeth at the Shakespeare Festival, among others. As an educator, he has taught workshops across the country for SETC, IHSTF, META, ISF, and in numerous university and college programs.
Auditions are open for ages 8 and up. There are roles available for men, women, and children. First-time auditionees are welcome–no experience necessary. Auditionees are asked to prepare thirty seconds of singing and be dressed to move.

The Board of Directors for La Crosse Community Theatre is pleased to announce that Tom Desjarlais has graciously accepted the post of interim executive director. The search for a new executive director will take some time. Rather than rush, the board determined that with the right person willing to temporarily lead LCT, the search process can be careful, thoughtful and result in the highest quality candidates.
Tom Desjarlais has been been a strong supporter of LCT for many years, in addition to being a familiar face on the stage, Tom has been a committed volunteer working in a variety of positions and a dedicated patron.
We are grateful for his undertaking of the challenge. Tom will work closely with outgoing executive director, until David Kilpatrick leaves. Then Tom will take over full-time effective May 8.
La Crosse Community Theatre announces that tickets go on sale Monday, April 24, 2017 for Titanic: The Musical. Performances begin May 12, 2017, and continue through Sunday, May 28, 2017. Shows are Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. in the Lyche Theatre at the Weber Center for the Performing Arts.
In the early hours of April 15, 1912, the RMS Titanic sank to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean with 1,500 souls aboard in one of the worst maritime disasters in history. This powerhouse musical, winner of the 1997 Tony Award, chronicles the true stories of the people who sailed on the fateful ship. It is a tribute to their hopes for a brighter future and the grand dream that was Titanic.
LCT’s Executive Director David Kilpatrick serves as the production’s Director in what will be his final production at LCT. Kilpatrick will be joining Des Moines Community Playhouse as their Executive Director.
“It has been an honor to be part of LCT for these past 7 seasons. I can’t tell you how blessed I feel to be able to be direct this grand production with its incredible music and to have the finest A-level talent involved as cast, crew, musicians, and designers. Thank you for the privilege,” Kilpatrick said of his final production with LCT.
This production also features musical direction by Matt Salvo, choreography by Robert Jones, set design by Dillon McArdle, costume design by Irina Christel, lighting design by Michael Ranscht, and stage management by Molly Brueske.

“What is particularly theatrical about this production is the story. Although the ship was epic in scale, the individual stories are what is important. This cast is working so hard to bring famous and not-so famous people to life,” said Kilpatrick.
