10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Improv 101

Everything starts with the basics. Improv 101 is an exploratory workshop for beginners to try improv in a low stress, fun environment. Emphasis will be on games, the power of “Yes, and…”, and the foundations of improv scene work.

Circus Skills & Physical Comedy 101.5 for Youth

In this workshop students will learn a tad more than the basics with varied circus arts and physical comedy skills/illusionary techniques. For example, students will learn how to juggle, balance an object atop their nose, balance on a large sphere, walk into a wall and survive, and how to safely give and receive a pie to the face. It’s just your typical everyday funny stuff. Bring a towel to class.

Saturday, February 17
1:00-3:00 p.m.

You Cannot Do Audience Improv Without Annette

Learn about the process behind the in-the-moment world that Kenny Ahern has been creating on stage for over 30 years. Human natures speaks to many common audience participatory moments; learning how to lead and go with these moments is the key. To do this, you need a strong understanding of timing and an unbridled commitment of going with the flow, as well as the confidence to bend the flow–especially when a new gem of a moment comes alive on stage. I will invite an audience member on stage as a partner in play, with the goal of creating a star and an audience hero. Success is achieved in the ability to make the right audience partner choice and in how to adapt if you fail miserably in your choice.
