With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone’s hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. Annie is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie eventually foils Miss Hannigan’s evil shenanigans, finding a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

Book by Thomas Meehan. Music by Charles Strouse. Lyrics by Martin Charnin. Presented on Broadway by Mike Nichols. Originally produced by Irwin Meyer, Stephen R. Friedman, Lewis Allen, Alvin Nederlander Associates, Inc., The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and Icarus Productions. Based on “Litte Orphan Annie”. By permission of the Tribune Content Agency, LLC.

The Penguin Project was created by Dr. Andrew Morgan and provides children with special needs an opportunity to develop creative skills, partner and network with others, and participate in a fully realized musical production. The Artists, who are children with special needs, will take the stage to perform a modified version of Annie. The Artists get on-stage assistance from their Mentors.
