Greet our patrons
Ushers greet the public, assist with Will Call, verify tickets, help patrons find their seats, and hand out programs. This is a great way to get started and meet a lot of people. Many ushers volunteer in groups with their friends. Ushers must be friendly and helpful! We need 10–12 ushers per performance in the Lyche Theatre and 6 ushers per performance in the Veterans Studio Theatre. La Crosse Community Theatre welcomes ushers ages 8 and up for all Theatre for Youth productions. For main stage productions in the Lyche Theatre, ushers must be 12 years or older. For main stage productions in the Veterans Studio Theatre, ushers must be 16 or older. All ushers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Additional Guidelines: We ask that our ushers arrive 1-1/2 hours before a show (6:00 for a 7:30 pm show or 12:30 for a 2:00 pm show) to ensure plenty of time to receive instructions, be assigned tasks, and have any other questions answered before we open the lobby to patrons. We prefer that you dress up, wearing black and white clothing, if possible. We now ask ushers to enter the theatre through the lobby doors near the riverfront. Please do not use the stage doors, so that we do not disturb the actors or backstage crew. Ushers are not required to stay through the entire show but are invited to stay and watch the performance for free. Contact the box office (608-784-9292, ext. 2) for more information. Individuals may sign up for available performances using the links below. If your group or organization is interested in forming an Usher Team for any of our productions, you may sign up at any time by contacting the box office.
