Camp Manager- Altra Star Academy Summer Theatre
The Star Academy Summer Theatre camp manager helps to facilitate youth theatre programming under the direction of the Director of Education.

Reports To Director of Education
Supervises: Counselors, Students ranging from ages 5-17
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES CAMP MANAGER
- Under the supervision of the Director of Education the camp manager will work closely alongside the Production Team and will be responsible for covering breaks for counselors which includes supporting a group of participants
- Support the direction of a rehearsal for participants. This includes assisting the Production Team and other Counselors in running rehearsals, performing technical preparations, and backstage duties.
- Work effectively with other counselors to provide age-appropriate theatre activities and be able to lead groups of participants in these activities and exercises.
- Serve as a role model, mentor, and leader for all participants.
- Assist with augmented supervision of participants during lunchtimes, snack periods, small group rehearsals, and technical production work.
- Assist the Director of Education with managerial tasks such as attendance, lunch pick up, and scheduling.
- Communicate with production team members via rehearsal reports and meeting notes.
- Act as calling stage manager during all productions
- Mentor student stage managers during the rehearsal process
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND ESSENTIAL SKILLS
Education and/or Work Experience
- Energy and passion for working with youth through theatre arts.
- Ability to maintain positive relationships and communication between campers, parents, and staff.
- Demonstrate exemplary leadership for all participants and fellow Production Team Members.
- Represent and promote La Crosse Community Theatre in a positive and professional manner.
Skill Sets We Are Seeking
- General knowledge of theatre and stage management
- Knowledge of and ability to lead theatre or Camp Games
- Supervisory or previous Camp Counselor experience
- Experience working with youth
- Teaching Experience
- Must be willing to be First Aid & CPR certified
- Must have valid drivers license
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Occasionally, lifting and carrying materials (less than 50 pounds) is required.
Wage Range is $13-$15 hourly, based on production and experience
Start date varies based on First Aid/CPR Certification and training availability
