A fun night for kids. A great night out for parents.
La Crosse Community Theatre’s Family Night Out program makes it easier for families to enjoy live theatre — even when a show isn’t quite right for younger audiences.
While parents attend a mainstage performance, children in Kindergarten through 5th grade enjoy a supervised, creative evening with LCT’s Star Academy team, right next door. Kids participate in hands-on arts activities, enjoy a snack, and leave with something they’ve created — all in a safe, welcoming environment led by experienced teaching artists.
It’s theatre for the whole family… just in different rooms.
What is Family Night Out?
How It Works
On select performance nights, parents can register their child for Family Night Out while attending an LCT mainstage show.
Family Night Out includes:
- Supervised care by LCT Star Academy staff
- Theatre-themed arts and crafts activities
- A snack for each participant
- A take-home project connected to the evening’s show
- Convenient drop-off and pick-up aligned with performance times
Drop-off begins before the show, and children can be picked up immediately following the performance — no rushing, no stress.
Upcoming Family Night Out Performances
Come From Away
Family Night Out is currently being piloted during select performances of Come From Away on March 20th and 28th. This show offers a powerful theatre experience for adults, while Family Night Out ensures children are engaged, entertained, and cared for nearby.
If the pilot is successful, La Crosse Community Theatre plans to expand Family Night Out to additional mainstage productions, particularly those that may not be appropriate for younger audiences.
