Greet Our Patrons
Ushers greet the public, assist with Will Call, verify tickets, help patrons find their seats, hand out programs, and sell 50-50 raffle tickets. This is a great way to get started with volunteering and meet a lot of people. Many ushers volunteer in groups with their friends. Ushers must be friendly and helpful! We need 10–12 ushers per performance in the Lyche Theatre and 6 ushers per performance in the Veterans Studio Theatre. La Crosse Community Theatre welcomes ushers ages 8 and up for all Theatre for Youth productions. For main stage productions in the Lyche Theatre, ushers must be 12 years or older. For main stage productions in the Veterans Studio Theatre, ushers must be 16 or older. All ushers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
- We ask that our ushers arrive 1-1/2 hours before a show (6:00 for a 7:30 pm show or 12:30 for a 2:00 pm show) to ensure plenty of time to receive instructions, be assigned tasks, and have all questions answered before we open the lobby to patrons
- Please enter through the river doors. Please be on time. If you are late, we will give your ticket away to the general public.
- We prefer that you dress up, wearing black and white clothing, if possible.
- Ushers are not required to stay through the entire show but are invited to watch the performance for free.
