Announcing Registration is Open for the Spring Session of Theatre Education Classes

2/17/2020 – La Crosse Community Theatre announces that registration is now open for the spring session of Theatre Education classes. Classes meet on Saturday mornings at the Weber Center for the Performing Arts March 14 through May 16, 2020. There will be no class on March 21 and April 11, 2020.

Theatre should be ageless. One is never too young or too old to gain something from a theatre experience. Our classes provide participants with ways to learn great skills, make new friends, and have a lot of fun.

Imagination Station has a new time! Classes will go from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and is for children ages 5-7. If you can imagine it, you can play it! Imagination Station is a great introduction to storytelling.

Auditioning will have two sessions. Auditioning for Youth is for ages 8-13 and will meet from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Auditioning for Young Adults is for ages 14-18 and will meet from 11:00 a.m. to noon. Have you ever wanted to be in a play? How do you get into a show? Both sessions of this auditioning class will focus on the skills needed to have a great audition!  Frozen Jr auditions are May 4 and 5! Learn some new improvisational games, how to do a “cold read”, and ways to use your voice and body to audition with confidence!

Auditioning for Adults will meet from 11:00 a.m. to noon and is for ages 19 and up. You asked for it – you got it! This class is for any adult vying for a chance to be in a show. Auditioning for Adults will work on the skills every actor needs to rock an audition! From basic audition manners to nailing a “cold read”, this class will help you find and play to your strengths as a performer! Auditions are always just around the corner at LCT, so this class is a great leg-up on the whole process!

Tuition is $80 for each student. Registration may be completed through the box office or online at www.lacrossecommunitytheatre.org. For questions or to register, please call the box office at 608-784-9292 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
