Mark served as pastor of four ELCA congregations over a forty-four-year career. Most recently, Mark served as pastor of English Lutheran Church in La Crosse for 21 years, retiring in 2020. In 2002, he taught theology for a semester at a regional seminary in Nekemte, Ethiopia.

Mark served on the Institutional Review Board of Gunderson Lutheran Medical Center, the La Crosse County Ethics Board, and on the board of directors of multiple non-profit organizations in the greater La Crosse community.

In retirement, Mark found an artistic outlet at the La Crosse Community Theater. He was cast in six productions at LCT including Maurice in The Beauty and the Beast and Mr. Brownlow in Oliver. He has also helped with set construction in the theater shop.

Mark is married to his beautiful wife, Carol, and they have three grown children. Carol volunteers in the LCT costume shop.

Mark has a B.A. in Physics from Concordia College, a M.Th. in New Testament from Princeton Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry from Luther Seminary.
