La Crosse, WI – 11/18/19 – La Crosse Community Theatre announces that tickets are on sale now for The Santaland Diaries. Performances begin December 13, 2019 and continue through Saturday, December 21, 2019. Shows are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. in the Veterans Studio Theatre at Weber Center for the Performing Arts.

An out of work actor reluctantly decides to become a Macy’s elf during the holiday crunch. At first, the job is simply humiliating, but once visitors start pouring in, he becomes battle weary and bitter, occasionally taking out his frustrations on children and parents alike. A Santa who actually cares about children arrives; can he help our elf embrace the spirit of Christmas before his employment runs out?

“Back by popular demand, LCT is proud to present our annual production of The Santaland Diaries! This year, LCT veteran Matt Springer will don the yellow tights and bring us a new take on Crumpet the Elf's hilarious tale of holiday woe. Consistently sold out, don't wait to get your tickets to The Santaland Diaries,” said LCT Producing Artistic Director, Grant Golson.

The Santaland Diaries is by David Sedaris and adapted by Joe Mantello. This production is self-directed by LCT actor Matt Springer, and features costume design by Irina Christel, lighting design by Sydney Smith, set decoration by Peter Suardi, prop design by Dominique Luecke, and stage management by Kat Carter.

“The most exciting part of starring in and directing a one-man production is the complete ownership of the performance. As an actor in modern theatre, we are often far removed from the table when it comes to the overall artistic vision of a production. This is largely due to the fact that the director and production team have been planning and making the artistic choices for a production long before actors step foot into an audition space. However, in this instance, LCT has entrusted me to bring all of my artistic interpretations to life on their stage,” said Director/Actor, Matt Springer.

Tickets are $17 and may be purchased over the phone or at www.lacrossecommunitytheatre.org. For questions or tickets, please call the box office at 608-784-9292 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
