Happy Holidays from your theatre family at LCT!

What a year 2019 has been. For us, it was a year of firsts. LCT hosted our first 24 Hour Project in the spring, where 20 newcomers presented four original plays in the course of one day. In the summer, our campers got their “heads in the game” and underwent an intensive rehearsal process to produce LCT’s first full-length camp musical, High School Musical Jr. Lastly, this fall LCT took part in our first ever Penguin Project. Children with disabilities starred in a beloved Broadway musical and, with the support of their mentors, played their parts with gusto. The cheers were deafening as they all grasped hands for their final bows.

As your community theatre, we offer both children and adults a creative and welcoming environment with our educational programs. We push our students to develop their skills and step out of their comfort zones. As we head into 2020, we want to continue to push ourselves as an organization as well. We want to expand our curriculum and invite more adults to come out and play. We want to create immersive summer camps that show youth that there are more ways to be involved in theatre than just performing. We want to establish a scholarship fund so that no one is turned away from participating. Finally, we want to make The Penguin Project an integral part of arts inclusion in our community.

What do we need to make that happen? You. Your donation would directly help us fund more extensive educational opportunities for both children and adults, including more classes, more camps, more engagement, and a Director of Education position. This devoted employee's job would be to invest in the future of theatre by investing in the education of those who want to learn how to produce live art. During this time of love, joy, and peace, please consider making a donation to LCT to ensure that we can continue to grow our educational offerings. Invest in LCT and you will invest in the future of our community.
